On one fateful night in August in New Orleans, Lexie was making her way down Broadway Street (aka greek row) and went into a ZBT party. At the same time, Ian was in his element and dancing/drinking the night away with his fraternity brothers. A friend of Ian's was talking to a friend of Lexie's, and Ian and Lexie ended up meeting. Since that sophomore year party, Lexie and Ian remained friendly for over a year, running in the same friend groups, going to the same parties, and overlapping in the same classes. It wasn't until November 2015, when Ian and Lexie were both studying abroad, that either realized there may be something more. Ian was visiting his friend (and now groomsman) in Vienna, where Lexie was studying abroad. Both went out in the same group to bars that night, and Ian and Lexie realized they may be interested. But, Lexie was leaving that next day to travel for the weekend, and Ian was only in Vienna for that weekend. When the two were back at Tulane for Spring semester, Lexie was organizing a group of people to go out for her birthday. She was walking to class and passed Ian, and asked Ian if he was going to the Boot (Tulane's bar) that night. Ian said yes. Ian was convinced that Lexie was making a move on him. Lexie was convinced that she was being a social butterfly and asking anyone and everyone to come out for her birthday. But, the two ended up talking that night, and continued talking for months until Ian asked Lexie to be official. The rest is history. You could say Ian was right all along :)

Fall 2014: Met at a party at Tulane University in New Orleans Fall 2015: Ian visited his friend who was studying abroad with Lexie in Vienna, Austria. April 2016: Started officially dating after a few months of talking August 2017: Ian moved to Houston, Lexie started her fifth year at Tulane. We began our year of long-distance September 2018: Lexie moved to Houston August 2020: Lexie and Ian moved in together April 2021: Ian proposed on our five-year anniversary!!
