We met through school. Josh transferred to Greenfield Central in the 8th grade and began public school. Throughout high school we knew each other, but we were not super involved. I was in marching band and he was in any/all the sports. After graduation in May 2019 we went to our College's. In December of 2019 we reconnected through a high school friend and began to hangout. In the following weeks we entered into 2020 with our very first kiss.
The thought, time, effort, and consideration Josh put into the proposal will give me butterflies for the rest of my life. I had spent the day with Josh's family in Cincinnati, to find his cousin Catie a wedding dress for her big day. After spending quality family time we returned to Indianapolis. I was supposed to meet Josh downtown for dinner, and Catie insisted she must take me. I was super confused. Once we arrived downtown we went to take a picture at the monument. After Catie took some pictures of us she was showing them to me, when I turned around Josh was down on one knee proposing to me. THE SHOCK / EXCITEMENT. Then his amazing Stepdad Doug came running out and caught the whole thing with his superior cameraman skills. Then Josh's mom appeared from hiding as well. The four of us celebrated, cried, laughed, and truly let the moment sink in. Josh and I ended the night with very special treatment from St. Elmos steakhouse.
