In December of 2020, we matched on Hinge (of course cause how else do you meet people these days). Ryan still lived in New York with plans to move to South Carolina the next summer. We made plans to meet up for coffee one morning in January after the last of my three night shifts. Ryan PROMISED me he wasn't coming to Myrtle Beach for the sole purpose of this coffee date but I later found out (way way later) that he was fibbing. I ended up cancelling the date because I was tired and not feeling well. Ryan was upset but handled it well and was so nice about it. Fast forward to July 2021 when Ryan and his family finally moved to South Carolina. Ryan tried everything to get me to finally have that date. Even though I was interested, and me being the stubborn girl I am, I kept making excuses. You know, wrong place wrong time. Then in December of 2021, I finally felt ready to give this persistent guy a chance and we set a lunch date for 12/31/2021. We went out for sushi and talked like we've known each other forever. We connected over our shared love of baseball, family, and before we knew it, 4 hours had passed. After only one month of dating, I got COVID and could not breathe, talk, smile, interact, etc. Somehow that didn't scare Ryan away (thank God). Instead, he brought me some of Grandma's homemade chicken soup and we just sat and watched movies in silence. Over the next two years, I convinced Ryan he loved my cats, we traveled to different cities and states, celebrated milestone birthdays, saw many baseball games, went on countless bike rides, tried tons of new wines, and we moved in together. Then, on December 3, 2023, Ryan proposed a week before taking me to NYC to see the biggest Christmas tree in the country. With December obviously being a sentimental month for us, we are now planning the best day to celebrate with all of our loved ones on December 7, 2024. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all and we especially cannot wait to see what our future holds!!!
