Leslye moved to Las Vegas in December 2021. By early January, she decided that she would give dating another try. Leo and Leslye initially connected on Bumble, a dating website where women are responsible for making the first move. After they matched, Leslye sent him a message letting him know what she was looking for in a relationship. He replied that he had the same goals in mind. They spoke by phone a few times and hit it off very well. They stayed in touch and soon Leslye called Leo to vent about life's challenges. Leo kept trying to cheer her up, and he finally asked her to come out on a date with him that night. She said "I don't think I will be good company right now", but Leo insisted. So they agreed to meet Downtown at Circa Las Vegas and ended up having a great time. "We ate chicken wings, had cocktails, laughed, and talked. It was casual and fun!" A few weeks later, Leo introduced Leslye to his father, and that's when she knew this relationship would be very different. She reciprocated by inviting him to ride with her on a quick road trip to her uncle's 65th birthday party in Los Angeles. On that trip, Leo met Leslye's mom, sisters, aunt, two uncles, and a few cousins from her mom's side of the family. Leslye's auntie and cousins promptly grilled him, but Leo held his own! The couple grew even closer when Leslye's family flew in from LA for Easter dinner. "This was special for because we made our relationship 'Facebook official' that day!" As their relationship grew more serious, they enjoyed various concerts, date nights, tried new restaurants, traveling, and events together. "We bought matching bowling balls and shoes and began competing." Leo began talking to Leslye about marriage and for the first time in her life, she did not feel nervous. "I knew I loved him and wanted to share my life with him." In May, Leo asked Leslye's mother if he could marry her and Mrs. Tinson gave Leo her blessing.
Leo had extravagant ideas of how he would propose, but I kept telling him that I did not want to be caught off guard in a huge production that would become Instagram-worthy. On October 9, 2022, Leo came over to pick me up for our brunch date. When he got to my house, I wasn't fully ready to go (per usual). Leo seemed in a rush, so he offered to help me put my shoes on, which I thought was such a cute, sweet gesture. After tying my shoestring, he asked me to marry him, and I was shocked. But of course, I said yes!! When we arrived at brunch, my mom and my girl Sam were waiting for us at the restaurant! A perfect proposal for an amazing love story!
