I became friends with his sister, Alexis, through a mutual friend. After hanging out with her a couple of times, she kept mentioning her younger brother and how we would be great together. We both didn't like the idea of being set up so we kept telling her no. But, after some time past, curiosity hit the both of us and we started following each on Instagram and talking here and there. One day, I was talking to one of my best friends and Christian came up in our conversation. I kept saying that I was a bit interested in him and decided to take a chance and ask him out. I planned a whole day of NYC fun: Arcade, Live music, Pizza and drinks. We have been inseparable ever since.
Christian could never surprise me because my mind always connected even the smallest of dots. On our third year together, we planned to go on a family trip to Aruba with his family. The months leading up to the trip, Christian had been discussing the proposal with his family and telling me our plans for the future have to be postponed a bit because of COVID. One day, a month before our trip, he went out with his parents to buy the ring while I was out with my friends. I went to Aruba not expecting anything but a fun family trip. Then, one night, we took a walk to a restaurant and stopped to take pictures on the way. I always refuse pictures but his family kept telling me "just go, it's only one picture." We posed and cameras flashed. I was ready to walk away when Christian said "Wait, I have a better idea." He knelt down and opened the little box and asked me to be his wife. I said yes, of course, and here we are ready to celebrate our marriage together.
