With much hesitation, Brooke and Jake joined the online dating universe and successfully swiped right for each other. Their match was suspenseful, as Brooke took two weeks to respond to Jake’s initial message. Despite Brooke being unaware that Jake lived in Wisconsin, she agreed to joining him on April 3, 2019 for their first date in Gurnee, IL at Little Italy. Their connection quickly developed over their mutual appreciation for music, career aspirations, and family. It took a short 24 days for Jake to officially ask Brooke to be his girlfriend at Old Crow Smokehouse in Chicago on April 27, 2019… just 2 months before he moved to Cleveland, OH for a year long internship with the Mid-American Conference. Their bond grew quick and strong while sharing memories on the lake in Indiana, brewery tours, Cub’s games, and a plethora of concerts. The long distance was intimidating, but neither of them questioned how special their connection was. They were able to make multiple weekend trips to each others’ respective cities and meet halfway at Brooke’s parents’ house in Indiana. Over the years they were by each others' side through new job opportunities, moving apartments, losing loved ones, the marriage of many close friends, stressful months (actually a complete saga) while Brooke studied for a certification exam, and many weekends on the lake with their closest family. On Christmas Eve 2021, Jake asked Brooke’s brother, sister, and sister-in-law for their approval in proposing to Brooke. After Jake’s adventure finding the perfect diamond with his Mom’s best friend Marta and Marta’s husband Rich, he FaceTimed Brooke’s parents to ask for their blessing to marry their daughter. The proposal took place at Brooke and Jake’s apartment on the evening of February 23rd, 2022. It was thoughtful and authentic. They were able to celebrate for an entire weekend in Milwaukee with their best friends Brooke and Eric Bulgarelli. Now Brooke and Jake ask all of you to join them in celebrating their special day.
