Why did you choose the American Legion?

Answer

We chose the American Legion in Savannah because it is the home / originating site of the Eighth Air Force. The Eighth Air Force began in Savannah in 1942. The building is preserved in the Georgia Historical Society registry. Bill North was part of the Eighth Air Force in Warner Robins, GA from 1974 - 1980, where he met Fran. We wanted to have our reception the day before their wedding anniversary in honor of them in this location, but we are moving before July 30th. This reception is not just for us; it is for them to connect with their friends from days long past.

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please try and RSVP by March 22nd, 2021! That will help us out immensely.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire! Dresses, slacks with blazers, suits, anything within that category. Active duty and retirees are welcome to wear their dress uniforms.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Anytime between 4 and 7 pm on April 10th. We chose this early time because people from out of town may want to go have a special dinner or explore more of downtown before it gets too late. Bryan and I are also old people - we don't like to stay out too late!

Is there an elevator to the ballroom?

Answer

Yes, there is an elevator for those who will require its services. The elevator is located in the back corner of Betty Bombers in the American Legion building. There will be a sign to direct you to it!

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, we are registered on Amazon, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Etsy.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We like your kids a lot, but this is an adult-only function. There will be a variety of people coming, and we want you to not stress about your little ones. Come have fun.

Is there parking for the reception?

Answer

Parking is limited at the American Legion. It is close to Forsyth Park, where there is not a lot of space. Once we have a solution for this, we will let you know.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

We have vegetarians and vegans close to our hearts, so we will try and make accommodations as best as we can. If you do have a food allergy, please email us at lehmanfindstruenorth@gmail.com and we will help to the best of our ability.

Covid?

Answer

Covid may still be an issue. You are welcome to wear your mask. If anything changes with the American Legion and their rules on masks, we will let you know.
