One night Lee decided to go to the local American Legion, where he ran into the most beautiful bartender he had ever seen. Not too many words were shared besides "Mich Ultra? $2.50". After the Legion had closed they happened to be at the same restaurant/bar Willy Mac's. After a conversation about how Kenny (Lee's brother knew my mom) dating came up. Sam responded with what she was looking for in a possible partner. It sounded a bit like "I'm looking for someone that has a job, has a license, has a car, lives on their own, can pay their bills..." As Sam was going through her list of wants Lee sat back and checked them off!! <3 Lee approached Sam at the end of the night and asked for her number. Low and behold....he contacted her through Facebook Messenger because he thought she gave him the wrong number....wrong...he didn't put in all the digits. Sam was hesitant and not looking for anything at the moment. But with the help of her mom and of course a "free dinner" ;) she went to dinner. It was 2 weeks later, February 21st. She was confident and comfortable and well...Lee was a shaky nervous wreck. As time went by throughout the date, Sam was blown away by this man she almost missed out on. He was funny, charming, intelligible, comfortable to be around, got his shit together kind of guy. Not only was the date amazing, but HE made RESERVATIONS!!! Following that night, we met at the Pour House before Sam went on vacation. There we played "Shut the Box" a fun go-to game we continue to play. After Sam returned from vacation, it was when do we get to see one another again? The big steps began in June when we started talking about the next steps. With kids involved, we wanted to make sure to be sensitive to everyone involved. We decided that we would move in with one another in August before school started back up. Since then we have had nothing but amazing moments together and continue to grow as a couple. We can't wait to see what our future holds.
