How We Met

In fall of 2021, Jordan took a trip to North Carolina to attend the Impact Youth Workers Conference with Jose (his groomsman). This conference was hosted by New Manna Baptist Church, the church Abigail and her family have attended since she was in second grade. While attending Impact, Jordan met Jason Garner, the youth pastor at NMBC. Through conversation, Jordan was asked if he was single. When he answered 'yes', Bro. Jason Garner then told Jordan he had a girl for him, and then told him about Abigail. After leaving the youth workers conference, Jordan forgot entirely about the conversation & the girl. Nearly a month later, her name popped in his head and he looked her up on social media and immediately asked around to see if anyone in his life knew her and could get him in touch with her. The next day, after hours of contemplating the perfect message to send her, he sent, "Hey what's up?" On the other end of the story, Abigail was sitting on the couch doing homework on a Saturday when she checked her phone and saw that a guy named Jordan had followed her on Instagram. When she opened up his account and saw him, she was immediately smitten and showed her mother a picture of Jordan later that night. "Look at this fine specimen that just followed me on Instagram!" On Sunday, Abigail caught word that Jordan was working up the courage to message her. After hours of her anxiously checking her phone waiting to see a message from him, she decided to give up checking and had assumed he changed his mind... until she got that long-awaited notification. "Hey what's up?' "He struggled that long just to hit me with a, 'hey, what's up?'?!?"- A text Abigail sent her Maid of Honor, Bethany. Long story short, after months of FaceTime and texts, Jordan made the 10 hour trip to NC from NJ to meet Abigail in person. It only took the one trip for them to both know their search for 'the one' was over. When Jordan left after that weekend, he called his mother to say, "I'm going to marry this girl" and sure enough, he is going to marry that girl.
