Old Town has so much character and feels like you are stepping back in time! Check out the railroad museum, walk along the river, and step into the candy stores to buy salt water taffy. Downtown Sacramento Restaurant recommendations: Iron Horse Tavern, Tower Cafe for brunch, Cafeteria 15l, Zocalo
Hidden Falls National Park is great for hiking. Our favorite hike there visits a lookout near the waterfall. It is a 3 mile loop of medium difficulty. The park is located in Auburn, only a 10-minute drive from the venue.
Spencer grew up in Grass Valley, and we go back to visit all the time! Grass Valley is about a 30-minute drive from the venue. It's gorgeous, filled with pine trees and charming Victorian homes. We recommend visiting: -Wineries: there are 3 tasting rooms that you can easily walk between in downtown. Tastings cost around $10 each. Lucchesi Mill Tasting Room, Avanguardia Wine Tasting Room, Sierra Star Winery (our personal favorite: the sparkling almond wine is to die for!) -Grass Valley restaurants recommendations: Alloro Cucina Italiana, Tofanelli's Bistro, Maria's Mexican
