A few days into the school year, a group of freshman went to an off campus dinner. While we were seated at separate tables during dinner, we spent the entire walk back to the dorms talking to each other and somehow that walk ended with an exchange of phone numbers. The answer to which one of us asked for the other's number first is still up for debate...
I had a great plan for to surprise Leah by proposing at one of her favorite places, Arrington Vineyard, but Mother Nature had other plans. It rained all day before and the morning of the proposal. But after becoming a meteorologist from diligently studying weather patterns across all the top hits on google, I had a backup plan in the works. Leah was post-call so she didn't question me much and gave little resistance when I suggested we go to brunch after saying she shouldn't go to brunch with her friends (thanks for being so flexible and helpful ladies) plus it was our anniversary weekend. With the help of family and friends, we were able to decorate our home and sneak everybody in while we were away. I told Leah I had a surprise for her inside but she had to close her eyes while I got it once we got inside. Luckily, she didn't peek and I was able to propose in our dining room surrounded by our loved ones.
