Due to LA's infamous traffic, I recommend you stay close to a train line in West Hollywood, DTLA or Old Town Pasadena. Red Line will take you to Hollywood Expo Line will take you to Santa Monica. I live near the Gold Line in Highland Park. Be careful of MacArthurs Park and if you are going to stay in DTLA steer clear of double digit street's try to stay between 1st-7th near the financial and jewelry district.
