Zach and Lauren met on a dating app, and Lauren dropped the pick up line “hey there!” (she’s really got a way with words). Zach is from Duluth, and just happened to be in the cities in between coaching soccer up in Duluth when he “swiped right” on Lauren before leaving on a boys trip to Nashville. If he didn’t come down to the cities that weekend, we probably would have never met. After that, we were glued to our phones talking to each other until he finally got back from Nashville and could meet each other in person before he had to head back up to Duluth to coach. After our first date, he drove down from Duluth almost every weekend to see Lauren (he even drove down to spend 2 hours with her just to drive back up to Duluth the same day). Our first date was at Lakes and Legends Brewery in Minneapolis. Everything was going well and we really hit it off! Lauren got up to go to the restroom when the bartender stopped her and held up a wallet saying someone found it on the sidewalk outside, but they weren’t sure if it was hers because of her ID picture. For all those who don’t know, Lauren carries her “drivers license” she made in preschool with a picture of little Lauren on it that covers her actual ID when you open up her wallet (see for yourself on the "photos" page). Thankfully the bartender was able to recognize that it was her! After the date, Zach dropped her off back at her apartment, when she realized her wallet was not in her purse…again. She immediately called Zach that she lost her wallet and turns out, it fell out in his car so he drove all the way back to her apartment. As embarrassed as Lauren was, Zach was a perfect gentleman about it and the rest is history. We like to think it’s modern day Cinderella but instead of losing a shoe, it’s a wallet.
