Lauren and I first met on a dating app during the covid summer, August 2020. While I completed a 14 day quarantine after a run in with Covid, Lauren and I spoke non-stop over text. We connected over our favorite foods; including which Omaha patio would be best for our first date, mutual friends and the shared love we have for Notre Dame Football. After a successful quarantine, our socially distanced, outdoor patio date was set. On a beautiful September evening, I picked up Lauren from her apartment and we headed to Taco Co. in Omaha. For Lauren, the first date jitters kicked in. Upon arriving the hostess asked "inside or outside?" and without hesitation Lauren answered, "inside is fine". I let a couple dates go by before really giving Lauren a hard time for spoiling our outdoor Covid date. Over the next few months, Lauren and I shared countless dates; trying new restaurants, playing lots of super monkey ball, introducing each other to our friends and meeting each-others families. We made it official on Halloween Eve when I asked Lauren to be my girlfriend while watching Cars #KaChow. Over the past 4 years life has been a highway, Lauren and I have enjoyed countless trips to see friends and family, attend countless weddings, sporting events and concerts, we even took a trip to Europe, a beautiful 10 days exploring multiple cities in Italy. Of course, we never take a trip without rocking our matching Nike travel shoes. I asked Lauren to be McQueen on November 19th, 2023 at a Christmas Farm in front of both our families. We cut down and brought home our first Christmas tree, a tradition we look forward to continuing for years. We’re committed to a lifetime of movie nights, cooking dinners, and vacations wearing matching shoes. We are so blessed by the amazing blend of family and friends around us.
