We met on a dating app. We both lived in Michigan throughout 2020 but didn't know each other. We matched on the app after we both came back to the DMV and hit it off pretty instantly. In December 2020, we went on our first date and have been inseparable ever since.

We were on a trip together in California, and Dre took me to Joshua Tree National Park. I love the outdoors, hiking, and nature. Dre on the other hand- it's not his favorite, but he lovingly obliged. We started out on the trailhead of one of the hikes I wanted to do. It was a pretty peaceful day, until we started gaining elevation. Dre is TERRIFIED of heights. The trail was about 6-7 feet wide. On our left was the mountain, on our right was a cliff. I turned around about halfway up and Dre is hugging the mountain for dear life, shuffling his feet like he suddenly forgot how to walk in a straight line. I tried my best not to laugh, and offered to turn around to put him out of his misery. We ultimately decided to turn back (we were pretty close to the top, so I was very proud of him and still got some great pictures). We got down to the bottom and sat on a rock to have a drink and soak in some more of the scenery. We got up to leave, and he got down on one knee. It was a really sweet moment, just the two of us. I got a great laugh and a fiancé all in one day :).
