Our Story

All it took was a swipe right from both of them and Juan to be the first one to reach out. It took a few weeks for Juan to convince Lauren to go out on a date. First date was going to see Halloween. Both of them were nervous, of course. This would be their first time meeting, but there was also a language barrier since Juan didn't know much English. Lauren didn't even notice. After that first date they both knew they wanted there to be more. A few weeks later, Juan took Lauren to a Colombian restaurant for her birthday and they officially started dating. Over the next few years they went on vacations and just enjoyed creating memories either going to soccer games with friends or just finding a brewery to try a new sour beer. They started talking about the future and Lauren started to get suspicious, thinking the proposal was going to happen soon. In 2021 they planned a vacation, and Juan said it had to be a romantic place. As it got closer Lauren started picking up on little comments Juan would say. The one thing that made her really suspicious was when he questioned why she was doing her nails a week before the trip and asked if she would be doing them again before they left. He says that she tricked him into saying that. They left for Charleston and Juan had everything planned out. The first place they went was the place that the Notebook was filmed, and Lauren really thought it would be where the proposal would happen. When it didn't, she thought maybe it wasnt going to happen at all. They went to the next location that Juan planned and while Lauren was trying to look at everything in the garden, Juan was trying to rush and on his phone. Once they got to the bridge Lauren could see a guitar player on the bridge and was told to go stand there while Juan set up the camera. Juan had hired a guitar player and proposed on the bridge. He might bave gotten a little distracted from the alligator swimming by at the same time. Lauren would say it was the perfect proposal, and even though she had a feeling it would be happening she was still completely surprised at how much was planned. Since then they have been planning the perfect wedding day and looking forward to their future.
