Who asks someone to go to a wedding with them for a first date? Dylan Campfield that's who. We've known each other since 2009. We lived beside each other in the dorms sophomore year at UNC-Chapel Hill, but were never more than friendly acquaintances. Since we both stayed in town after graduation, we would see each other in passing (usually on Franklin Street) and do the usual "how's it going?", "we should get together sometime"...but of course that never happened. Once day in the summer of 2015, Lauren received a snapchat asking what she was doing on June 20th, and would she like to attend a wedding as Dylan's date? Bold. The rest is history, and we've been inseparable since then. From moves to Charlotte, many trips, both going back to school, adopting another husky to our pack, and being quarantined together for months, it's been one crazy adventure. We cannot wait to start the next chapter of our lives together, and are so happy you'll be there to celebrate with us.
It was a gloomy Sunday after a busy week. I had just started my new job and Dylan said he thought we should have day date to ourselves before the craziness of Christmas began. He casually suggested we check out Treehouse Vineyards, since we have been talking about going for years. When we arrived, we were taken up to one of the private treehouses that Dylan had rented. You could see the whole property, and we were just chatting, relaxing, and enjoying the view. I was taking some photos of the vineyard, and Dylan said, "stand there and let me get a shot of your profile". When he told me he was done and I could turn around, he was down on one knee holding out the most beautiful ring you could imagine! It was about 10 minutes of screaming, crying and almost falling from the treehouse before I remembered to say yes. It was the most perfect and intimate moment that I will never forget! If you've seen the photos, you know how excited I was-- and still am! It was the easiest decision I have ever had to make! -Lauren
