Maid of Honor
Hallei is Corey's only child (as far as he's aware, anyway.) Her bubbly personality and love and affection for both Corey and Lauren made her an obvious choice for Maid of Honor! Looking for something to talk to Hallei about at the reception? Hallei loves to talk. No, seriously. There's no topic off limits. She will just talk. Sometimes she listens, but she usually just talks. Some of her favorite topics include soccer, yodeling pickles, and arts and crafts.
Best Man
Corey and Chris first met in 2020 when Corey was working for the Harford County EMS Foundation, working fill-in shifts at Fallston Fire Company. Anyone who knows Chris and Corey will tell you that they both could make friends with a statue, so it should come as no surprise that they became fast friends. Conversation topics with Chris could include the Baltimore Blast, Jumbalaya, Carnival Cruises, Minor League Hockey, and softball. In fact, Chris enjoys playing softball - he plays every Sunday evening at 5:30, with Jen. He's easy to spot on the field - just look for the blindingly bright white New Balances.
Matron of Honor
Jen is Lauren's little sister, and one of her best friends. On an unrelated note, Jen is Hallei's favorite. She's also a spectacular Softball player. Last year she batted .431 with 6 grand-slams, which was a career high for her. She plays on Sundays at 5:30 - she keeps talking about retirement though, so we suggest you try to make it out to see her play before the fall. Good Ice-breakers for Jen include, arts and crafts, golf, and Seltzers.
Groomsman
Chip and Corey first met through the EMS profession when Chip was managing a private ambulance company where Corey was working. They didn't become close, however, until Corey joined the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company in 2020. Despite Corey's best efforts, Chip became Corey's full time partner at work this past April. In his spare time, Chip also is a world-class Softball player and occasionally travels internationally competing in tournaments. If you see Chip at the wedding, conversation topics with him could include: Dolphins (the aquatic mammal, not the sports team), Chick-Fil-A, Softball, and professional sports (specifically MLB and NFL).
Bridesmaid
Meghan is Lauren's youngest cousin, who also happens to be the mother of the stunningly beautiful Flower Girl. Meghan loves to talk about Geography. You can catch her most Tuesday nights at the local pub kicking ass at their Geography Trivia nights. Actually, Meghan just likes to talk. Really. She comes by it honestly, though (if you've met her mother, you'll understand.)
Groomsman
Ryan is Lauren's brother. An electrician by trade, some of the stories he tells are quite shocking. Conversation starters for Ryan include: Fishing, saltwater fishing, freshwater fishing. Oh, and he likes golf and drinking Bud Light. In fact, sometimes he does both at the same time. Also, ladies, HE'S SINGLE!
Bridesmaid
Shari has been in Lauren's life since the day Lauren was born. Someone Lauren looks up to for everything. Literally. She’s like 6 feet tall, and Lauren’s only 5’6 (and a half). Fun Fact: Lauren was in Shari's wedding and had to be sewn in to her dress an hour before the wedding. So if any of you reading this have a sewing kit, please bring it. Paybacks are a b****. Shari has a love for Softball, Volleyball, Miller Lite, the Steelers (you see this, Chuck?), and the University of Miami.
Groomsman
Chuck was Hallei's soccer coach for 2021 and 2022, and Corey became his assistant coach in the Spring of 2022. Despite the fact that Chuck is a Steelers fan, Chuck and Corey became close friends and bonded over their love for craft beer. If you're looking to strike up a conversation with Chuck, may we recommend you mention the Steelers, Bird-watching, Pro sports, or Craft Beer.
Bridesmaid
Kaley is Shari's oldest daughter, and Abby's older sister (duh). Kaley graduated high school in 2021 and is about 2/3 of the way through her welding certification program at Christopher Newman University. We think she's also studying Communication and Leadership, but we aren't really sure. We assume that the "Communication" part is the last module of the program, which she hasn’t quite started, since she hasn’t emailed us back yet. Rumor has it that she and Taylor Swift were roommates for a minimester, but we can't seem to get an honest answer out of Taylor, and now she's not answering my phone calls. Can someone please confirm with Kaley and let us know?
Groomsman
Andrew and Corey were partners at the Bel Air Fire Company for several years. Unless you've worked in such a profession, you wouldn't understand the bond that is formed between two people working and living 48 hours a week together. But before they were full time partners, Corey literally saved Andrew's life, when he saved him from a freak Carbon Monoxide leak in the back of one of Bel Air's old ambulances. If you see Andrew at the wedding, make sure you ask him to do his re-enactment of Brokeback Mountain. We think he still watches it daily, just like he did back in 2018 when he and Corey worked together.
Bridesmaid
Sam and Lauren first met at Patient First in 2018, when Sam got hired there as a floor scrubber. She quickly moved up the ranks and now works as a Medical Assistant there. Despite the fact that Sam went to NDP, Lauren quickly befriended her and they have been best friends (some would even describe their relationship as one involving rainbows, if you catch our drift), ever since. Nothing gets Sam talking faster than a conversation about scooters (you know, the ones in the city that require you to swipe a credit card before you ride). If you're not up on the Scooter lingo, that's no problem for Sam. She will happily discuss broken wrists, Liquid IV, Bow Ties, and her dog Bear instead.
Groomsman
Marc and Corey grew up in the same neighborhood and have been close friends since 1st grade. Marc and his twin brother Ian are like brothers to Corey- and his parents are like second parents to Corey as well. Marc is an electrician by day, but at night he performs at a local piano bar. You should hear him sing and his piano version of Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee” is second to none. Maybe, if we can find a piano at the farm, he will perform for us.
Bridesmaid
Lauren and the Vincents have been close family friends since the days of the Korean War, so it's no surprise that Lauren has been in Abby's life since the day Abby was born. Abby just finished high school and has committed to Coastal Carolina University on a full Fencing scholarship starting in the fall. In her down time from studying alcohol and boys there, Abby, or “the Tit Taker,” as she’s more affectionately known by her sorority sisters, plans to sit in a classroom and study Sport and Exercise Science. Abby is very shy. We're pretty sure that old adage "speak softly and carry a big stick" is how Abby got her start in fencing - in fact, we are still trying to convince her to leave her foil at home. Lauren has $5 for the first person who can get Abby talking at the reception. No hints for this one, though - we're trying to save money.
Groomsman
Ian, like his twin brother Marc, is like a brother to Corey- they have been very close friends since 1st grade. Ian and his brother used to go on sailing trips with Corey and his family over the summer, which sparked Ian’s love for the water. Ian recently passed his Journeyman classes and is now a licensed Journeyman electrician here in Maryland. When he’s not working as a Journeyman, Ian is a world-champion Cornhole player. He recently traveled to Madagascar to compete in the Cornhole World Championship, where he and his partner finished a respectable 103rd out of 300 competitors.
Bridesmaid
Lauren met Anna in 2018 or so, when Anna got a job at Patient First. Anna and Lauren were "weekend partners," whatever that means. Gents - guess what?! - SHE'S SINGLE! You can steal her heart by asking her about the Ravens, Canton, Traveling, or Grey's Anatomy. She also comes armed with several incredible knock-knock jokes, so make sure you ask her to tell you one!
.
Flower Girl
Maddie is the prettiest Flower Girl we've ever seen. We're actually not sure what Maddie likes to talk about, though, because when she talks, it isn't English. Yet. While she is not much of a conversationalist, you could easily bond with Maddie by YouTubing "Ms. Rachel", "CocoMelon", or "Hey Bear" and handing her your phone. You could also easily win her over if you bring Mozzarella Cheese or Yogurt with you.
Ring Bearer
Luke (or "Lukey" as he's more affectionately known), is responsible for keeping most of us on our toes at every event he attends. Luke was too young to say no, and now he's locked in to being our ring bearer, but those who live with him swear he's really excited!
