Giacomo and Lauren's story began serendipitously on May 4th, 2018. Lauren, hesitant about joining a happy hour after classes, decided to go last minute. Lauren, now in Battery Park, was convinced she wouldn't see the charming green-eyed guy in the polka dot shirt again. Yet, fate intervened as Giacomo, a couple of hours later, walked in with his friend. Taking a chance, Giacomo bought Lauren a drink, leading to a conversation that lasted hours until the bar closed. They didn't want the night to end, so they began an unsuccessful search for food, with Lauren anticipating that Giacomo would eventually ask for her number. Around 4 AM, they agreed to say goodnight, and Giacomo finally exchanged numbers, requesting her to let him know once she was home safe, and she knew something special brewing between them. Their bond grew through shared hangouts, their relationship evolving into a genuine friendship. Through their conversations, they discovered that their paths may have crossed multiple times in life, yet life somehow brought them together on that night. One day, Giacomo wanted to surprise Lauren at a bar, but he ended up going to the wrong place! Determined to see her, he told her not to leave and got back in the car. Finally arriving, at the end of the night, he politely asked if he could kiss her. Since that night and their first kiss, they have truly been inseparable. August 27th, 2023, marked a pivotal moment when what was meant to be a casual dinner turned into a heartfelt proposal by the water. Giacomo asked Lauren to marry him.
