Our story began all the way back in 2015 – our freshman year at Virginia Tech. We both found ourselves at a “Wine Wednesday” fraternity party when Laura’s college roommate introduced us. We exchanged phone numbers and would text each other from time to time to try and figure out where the other would be; that way we could coincidentally show up at the same party that night. After almost a year of exchanging glances from across the room at parties, Joe finally asked Laura to be his date, but Laura had other plans that night and couldn’t go. Our freshman year ended, and we hadn’t really spoken much until seeing each other again the following Fall. After much persistence, Joe finally got Laura to agree to be his date to Sigma Chi’s annual crawfish boil. Ever since then, we have been (and will be) each other’s date to the next party. Then, on October 20th, 2016, came back to Joe’s apartment after the VT-Miami tailgate. This is where Joe asked Laura, yet again, to be his date to Sigma Chi’s formal event in Charleston. That’s when Laura remarked that we’ve been seeing each other a lot recently; to which Joe responded with, “yeah, I guess we're dating now.” We were inseparable for the rest of college, even staying in Blacksburg throughout the summer to spend more time with each other. Unfortunately, after college, Laura moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, for work and Joe moved down to Charleston for law school. Living in different states and determined to make our long-distance relationship work, we would make the 3-hour road trip to see each other every single weekend. Eventually, Joe graduated from law school and we were able to move into our first apartment together in Charlotte. Moving in with Laura’s cat, Calvin, and later adopting our furry friend named Theo. After two years of living in the city, we decided to slow things down and move back to beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. We are so excited to spend the culmination of over eight years of hard work, laughs, tears, and a whole lot of love together with all of YOU! We truly appreciate all of your love and support over the last eight years and are so grateful to give you all a weekend of fun, food, dancing, and drinks - which hopefully none of us will ever forget.
