Their paths crossed in the polo world when Hugo was hired as a polo pro/groom by Laura's former polo student at Capitol Polo Club in Poolesville, MD, where Laura was playing and teaching polo. Hugo broke the ice by adjusting the horse trailer height on Laura's truck (she set it too high). After a fun summer, Hugo decided to quit his annual migration to the Florida polo scene and to stick around in the freezing north with Laura. The rest is history.
