The first time Cory and Laura were introduced was through a friend at the Thursday night worship night ("Pursuit") at their church. Each of them had been praying for someone who enjoyed worshipping, serving and knowing the Lord as much as they did. Laura had specifically been praying for a man who attended the worship night service, not just church on Sunday. Their mutual friends encouraged Laura to attend their church small group which happened to be run by Cory’s sister, Candice, and her husband, John. Cory had been noticing Laura around church and Pursuit and now she’d walked right into his sister’s living room. It took Cory a few weeks to find the right opportunity to ask her out. One night at Pursuit, she noticed Cory out of the corner of her eye, lost in worship. She was surprised and went over to talk to him afterwards. They began chatting that night and over the next week as they ran into each other at church services and small group. Candice was a helpful wingman, inviting Laura over for a family dinner the following Friday night that Cory would be at. After dinner, Cory walked Laura to her car and she agreed to go on a date with him the next day. For their first date, Cory took Laura to lunch at R&D Kitchen in Yountville. It was a gorgeous warm day in the Napa Valley and they talked for about 6 hours straight- walking around town after lunch and sitting in a park. They connected very quickly and immediately started seeing each other about 5 times a week, mostly at the church related gatherings they loved so much. Things took off like a rocket, with Jesus at the center of it all. From the beginning, He made it clear He was in the midst of this relationship and they were blown away by all the supernatural ways He spoke to them and how carefully He had orchestrated bringing them together. Cory and Laura look forward to having you celebrate their love and covenant before God this September.
