WHEN HARRY MET SALLY

KANSAS CITY, OCTOBER 2014

When Laura heard about the opportunity to go on set for a real television show, she didn't need to give it a second thought, what's cooler than that? Alex was in Kansas City directing Game of Arms, a series for AMC, airing at the time alongside some of our favorite shows. Laura arrived on set in the West Bottoms, KCMO near the train tracks, only a little bit sketchy, and was greeted by Alex, as well as a huge production crew. It was love at first sight, not to mention a great day of shooting. Alex finished directing the show and flew back to LA, but his communication with Laura didn't stop there. The two continued to talk long distance every day for the rest of fall and into winter, up to the day Laura bought a one-way ticket to LA and went on her way to spend more time with Alex.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD

LOS ANGELES, DECEMBER 2014 - JUNE 2022

Once Laura landed at LAX, Alex wasted no time in showing her all over town, from Hollywood to Catalina Island, and very quickly Laura couldn't deny how much she was falling in love with Alex and the west coast. Throughout all the award shows and movie screenings, the two could hardly stand to spend any time apart, it was flying by, and suddenly two weeks turned into two years, which somehow became five. They rang in the new year 2020, when shortly after the pandemic hit, and the entertainment industry shut down. Two more years later and the infection rates cooled down, so they decided to take a spontaneous vacation to San Francisco just for a weekend in June. Little did Laura know Alex was planning something incredibly special for that trip.

THE PROPOSAL

SAN FRANCISCO, JUNE 18, 2022

Alex and Laura spent the first day in San Francisco checking out the shopping scene and sight-seeing the impressively steep hills and iconic houses. The engagement ring Alex purchased before they left was burning a hole in his pocket. The two made rooftop dinner reservations at the hotel they were staying in, and the next night headed upstairs for the panoramic city views. Once the sun dipped past the horizon, Alex jokingly asked Laura why they weren't married yet after all this time. Laura replied that if only he would ask, she would say yes, something they would joke about often. But this time, Alex took that opportunity to step over, get down on one knee, and pop the question. What he said was loving and perfect in the moment, but because they were both so nervous, neither can remember exactly what happened, except for an extremely enthusiastic, "YES!" The feeling was so thrilling, when suddenly a woman approached them and said she captured the moment on her phone and graciously sent Laura and Alex the photos. They treasure them, and will forever thank Holly for saving that special moment. They celebrated the next day by visiting Alcatraz Island and got caught in the middle of the Golden State Warriors Finals win celebration.

ASTEROID CITY

PALM SPRINGS, SEPTEMBER 2022 - NOW

Alex and Laura returned to LA with a new sense of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming wedding. Over time, they slowly started to branch out and explore other areas in Southern California in search of setting up a new home base as fiances. Palm Springs kept coming up again and again in their minds, and after finding the perfect midcentury home in the north part of town, they scooped up their sweet old pitbull Doc Holliday, loaded up the car, and made their way east to the desert where they are living today. Alex is working on high-end documentary films and series and Laura is currently story producing for Bravo.
