Lateff and Becca first met in August of 2015 through their mutual friend, Rachel. Rachel invited them both to Mad Decent Block Party, an EDM music festival in Brooklyn. Becca, having just moved to Hoboken, was feeling adventurous and looking to try something a bit outside her comfort zone. Little did she know that this type of event was RIGHT up Lateff's alley. Lateff was of course the life of the party. After a long pursuit, Becca agreed to go on their first date a month later. The date ended up lasting the entire weekend and they've been together ever since.
Lateff spent months planning a surprise 30th birthday party for Becca. Ironically, Becca ended up planning her own birthday party for later that same night so when Lateff tried to get her to go into NYC during the day to "watch a Penn State football game", she didn't have much of an interest. However, after some convincing, Becca begrudgingly agreed to go with him. As she walked into the private back room, she was utterly shocked to find that her closest friends and family from near and far had come to celebrate. Even her grandparents made the trip from Boston. After a few minutes of saying hi, Becca was led to the center of the room where a video was played featuring 30th birthday wishes and a photo montage. The video then cut to footage of Lateff proclaiming his love, getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. Becca then turned to find him down on one knee in real life beside her. It was truly the most emotional and magical moment. Lateff then proceeded to have an entire weekend of events planned to celebrate. Becca couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful or memorable proposal and the most amazing surprise of her life.
Becca and Lateff are so excited to have their family and friends join them in Charleston to celebrate their love. While we are currently planning to proceed with our wedding under the South Carolina guidelines; we also understand and respect the seriousness as well as the uncertainty that has accompanied the Coronavirus pandemic. We have been in constant communication with our vendor team as well as our venue to make sure that we are making the necessary adjustments, as well as following all protocol to keep our wedding as safe of an environment as possible for those who choose to attend.
