Love has a way of working things out. JerMelvin and I dated not once in our childhood, but twice. After unsuccessfully dating as little middle-schoolers, we found our way back to each other in high school. Typical puppy love. During that time, JerMelvin introduced me to his grandmother, and said "This is going to be the one I marry", but as the months passed, things got rocky, and we eventually split apart going our separate ways. That dream wedding seemed like history. Over the years, we had many encounters with one another, but often times would not even speak. After failed relationship, after failed relationship, we meet again. Fast forward to 2015, almost 10 years after we graduated. He finally decided to join Facebook. I could not believe it!! We started talking to each other, liking pics, and eventually went out on an official date. JerMelvin finally asked on Christmas of 2015 to be "official" and proposed with a promise ring and speech he had prepared and typed in his phone. Finally for years, we kept this thing going. Never giving up on each other. In 2017, I had to work on Christmas. (What a bummer?) He was off and asked could he have some company over while I was at work. He's not very social, neither am I, so that was odd, but I agreed. I came home to a house full of family and my closest friends, minus one, but I won't fuss about that right now. (Haha). JerMelvin had planned a special day for me, but why? He got down on one knee in front of all of these people and expressed his love for me (shakey, but he did it)!!!!!!!!!! Although our love story is no where near perfect. I am a firm believer that what God has for you, is for you!!
