Wedding Party

Meet our family & friends who will have special roles on our wedding day!

Kenzie Achterhoff

Matron of Honor

Kenzie and I like to joke that we’ve been friends “since the womb” because our moms attended the same Lamaze class while pregnant with us. Kenzie and I’s friendship truly began in middle school when we started a Bible study together and exchanged frequent messages on Hotmail.com. In high school, Kenzie and I attended the same youth group and got to be on Tulip Court together! Kenzie attended Bethel for a year where we lived a floor apart, and now we’ve both lived our adult lives in Minneapolis for 5+ years together! The most special memory I have with Kenzie is her baptizing me in 2018, and I know she’ll be an amazing Matron of Honor!

Ronald Jacobus III

Best Man

Ron is my older brother and best man. Growing up, Ron and I shared a lot of time on the tennis court and that usually ended with someone getting hit with a ball at least once. Over the years we played less tennis but continued to stay close. Ron has lived all over the country and in a few different time zones, but that never stopped us from staying in touch. Right now he lives in California and I only get to see him a couple times a year, but it feels like no time has passed. I am so honored to have him as my Best Man!

Marisa Jacobus

Bridesmaid

Marisa is Brett's sister and I am delighted to be gaining her as my very first sister, too! Marisa is a sweet soul and we share a love for Jesus, the Girl Defined podcast, and the show Dream Home Makeover on Netflix. Marisa and I have gotten to know each other better this year through doing a book group together, and we dream of taking sister trips someday! Marisa is very special to Brett and I, and we are honored to have her stand up for us!

Jacob Lindquist

Groomsman

Jake is my oldest brother and someone I have looked up to my entire life. Jake is fifteen years older than me, but the age gap doesn't ever seem to matter. I feel so blessed that Jake is in a different stage of life than me because he is a great example of what it means to be a committed husband and father. Jake is someone I know I can go to for advice and he doesn't hesitate to offer a helping hand. He is also one of the funniest people in my life, and I know whenever I see him I'm in for a lot of laughs!

Lauren Duesenberg

Bridesmaid

Lauren is the most positive person I know. We are high school friends, but our friendship grew the closest after college as we walked through seasons of singleness together. Lauren and I haven’t lived in the same city since high school, but we have logged hundreds of hours keeping up through the Marco Polo app. Lauren has an infectious laugh and smile, and I know she’ll bring extra joy to our wedding day!

Trenton DeHaan

Groomsman

Trent is Larkin's brother and the DeHaan family member I was most nervous to meet (sorry Derrick). But upon meeting him, I realized he was a nice guy and easy to get along with. Trent is significantly taller than I am, so if you notice him standing on the end during our wedding ceremony, it's nothing personal. It has been a pleasure getting to know Trent, and I am looking forward to gaining another brother!

Marissa Wynja

Bridesmaid

Marissa is one of my high school friends, but our relationship has actually been the closest throughout college and adult life! Every time I visited Orange City throughout college, Marissa and I always made time for a coffee date at Old Factory Coffee Shop. Marissa has been a constant encourager for me throughout life's up and downs, and I get to see her regularly since we both live in the Twin Cities. We love ice cream and intentional conversation at our favorite spot: Treats!

Brendan Reu

Groomsman

Brendan and I met in college, but we didn't become close until our junior and senior year. Ever since that time, Brendan has been an amazing friend and someone who is always up for trying something new. Today, Brendan and I live about fifteen minutes from each other and hang out regularly. We love to get dinner together at The Tavern or double date at Duke’s on 7 with Larkin and Kate!

Elisabeth Boe

Bridesmaid

Elisabeth is both a dear friend and a mentor to me. When I was a freshman at Bethel, Elisabeth was a sophomore and led a weekly Bible study for the girls on my floor. We became even closer my sophomore year and then lived together my junior year. Elisabeth always seems to be one season ahead of me in life, and it’s a blessing that I have her to guide me and give me Godly wisdom!

Quinn Prescott

Groomsman

Quinn and I have been friends since college and lived together at UNW and after graduating. Quinn is the life of the party and someone who is always fun to be around. However while he is the life of the party, he is also the type of person who is there to check in when times are tough and someone you want in your corner. If Quinn had said no to being a groomsman, I would have asked his dog Mowgli (who is like a son to me) to fill in!

Elli Taylor

Bridesmaid

Elli and I met through piano lessons when we were 7 years old but truly became close in middle school when our families started attending the same church. Elli and I enjoyed frequent Pizza Ranch dates before high school youth group and stayed close throughout college too. Elli lived in Indonesia after college, but our friendship always picked right back up where it left off when we were able to see each other! Now Elli, her husband Ian, and her son Jake live back in Iowa and it’s been a joy to connect with them every time I visit home!

Daniel Appel

Groomsman

Daniel is one of my friends from college, and has continued to be a close friend to this day. Daniel and I had an instant connection when we realized we nerd out on the same things- Star Wars and Lord of The Rings! Daniel and I live on opposite sides of the Twin Cities, but that doesn't stop us from seeing each other regularly and continuing to grow in our friendship.

Jazmin Duwenhoegger

Bridesmaid

Jazmin is my best friend from Bethel! Jazmin and I had a class together freshman year, but we truly became friends sophomore year when we ended up as random roommates! I now know that "random" roommate match was God introducing me to a dear lifelong friend. Throughout college, Jazmin and I loved making Target runs together, watching The Bachelor, eating ice cream, and visiting her hometown of Alexandria, MN. Since Jazmin and I both live in the Twin Cities, we've been able to stay close throughout changing seasons of life, and now one of my favorite things is loving on her precious kids!

Ty Crider

Groomsman

Ty and I met in college and went on to live in a house together our junior and senior year. Since graduating, Ty and I have lived in two different houses together and enjoyed experiencing new stages of life together, endless laughs, and some great music recommendations.

Lexi Young

Personal Attendant

Lexi and I met the day I moved into Bethel University. We were next door neighbors freshman year, lived across the hall from each other sophomore year, studied abroad together junior year, and I sub-leased from Lexi the summer before senior year. Needless to say, we were always in close contact! My funniest memory with Lexi happened during our study abroad trip when I lost my social security card in a French macaron shop and she raced across the city to help me find it back! Lexi and I share the same passions for organization, efficiency, and Starbucks, and I knew I needed her help running the show on my wedding day!

Cameron Fair

Usher

Cameron and I met my sophomore year at Northwestern where we both played on the tennis team. I am terrible with names and kept forgetting his, but I remembered he was from Kansas. So for a couple of weeks I called him “Kansas”, but I eventually learned his name. After college, Cameron and his family left Minnesota, but they recently moved back and it has been so fun having such a great friend close by.

Zach Hudson

Usher

Zach and I have been friends since living in the same hall together freshman year. We continued to stay close throughout college and into life after graduation. He has been a reliable friend I can talk to about anything faith-related or about my personal life. He is married and has a couple of kids and I appreciate having friends like him who have already experienced seasons of life I find myself in now and will eventually be in down the road.
