Question

What type of event can I expect?

Answer

This is going to be a super casual wedding. As you know, we lost our venue a week before the event and have had to make many last minute changes - and as of now we still don't have everything figured out. It'll now be at our farm on Whidbey Island. Think more Labor Day BBQ feel rather than traditional formal wedding.

Question

What's the best way to get here?

Answer

Our farm is about 15 minutes south of Deception Pass. We strongly recommend you drive north up I-5 to exit 230 and take Hwy 20 west and cross the bridge. The drive is lovely and doesn't *usually* have much traffic. We advise against taking the ferry. It's been rather unreliable with long wait times, but if you have a reservation you might be ok.

Question

How do I find your farm?

Answer

Shortly after turning south (right) on Hunt Road - after going down Fakkema Rd - you'll see a gravel drive on your left. There will be a hut with a sign for "All Critter Pet Care" on it - turn down that gravel drive. Keep to the right of the horse pasture and there we are!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Whatever makes you most comfortable! Again, it's casual so please don't dress up. And it is a 10 acre farm with lots of chickens running around and opportunities to meet our alpacas, pigs, and other critters or explore the forest. We just had our house built and don't have the landscaping really done so expect to walk around on grass, dirt and gravel.

Question

How's the weather?

Answer

Right now, a beautiful day is in the forecast - sunny and around 70 degrees. You are welcome to relax in our home, but we hope to have most of the party outside under a tent.

Question

Is there a schedule?

Answer

Unfortunately, we still don't have it all figured out, but we promise it'll be fun and enjoyable. A rough idea at this time is to have folks arrive around 2pm. We are thinking of doing a very short ceremony around 3ish followed by appetizers, drinks, a Mexican buffet dinner, dessert and music. Expect things to unfold rather organically. And please feel welcome to stay as long as you like!

For all the days along the way
