Our story starts back in 2012 on Lathrop St in Madison WI. We can’t remember the exact date, but the immediate spark is unforgettable. Youth and distance left our love smoldering, but still alive. Every few years, our paths would cross and the ember would brighten while we were in each other’s midst, only to be dampened once we left back to Illinois for Molly and for Jamie, whatever state he was in at the time. There would always be plenty of flirty banter, a few kisses exchanged, and both of us asking our friends who the other person was dating, but the distance always seem too far. Jamie laid the strong foundation by using his cover as a chili cook off judge to get Molly’s number back in 2018. Although we both left that birthday party weekend with stars in our eyes and thumping in our chests, we still didn’t recognize what that feeling could become. Molly made the next big step by moving out of Chicago and up to Madison. In December 2021, Molly snagged a last-minute invite to Ben and Alexa‘s wedding due to her New Year’s Eve dance moves and party spirit. Jamie had made the original invite list and had no idea what was brewing in Molly‘s mastermind plan. Molly made sure that Jamie knew she would be there, sliding into his DM‘s using books as a ploy. While they discussed the works of Fredrik Backman, Molly confirmed that Jamie would indeed be at the wedding-onto part two of the plan. As truly chance would have it, Jamie rolled into the ceremony with his friends and found a half open row to take a seat in, with who else, but Molly Lannon at the other end. As destiny tingled throughout Jamie’s body, they talked as if they’d always been together. After being seated at the same table (thanks Ben and Alexa!) and a few rounds of liquid courage, Molly asked Jamie to dance. After it was confirmed that we did indeed fit perfectly in each other’s arms, Molly asked Jamie on a date and he gave the quickest and surest yes of his life. Since that first date weekend and the many four-hour drives to see each other, there’s always been love tethering us together, drawing us closer and closer, until we could both see clear as day that we like where this is going, and always will.
