January 2020 right before the Global pandemic We met. I can remember the 1st day of us texting was the passing of Kobe Bryant. I was at a restaurant in Brooklyn New York named SOCO and standing close to Mark Daly (Kenya Moore’s husband RHOA) as we watched the News when the tragedy occurred. My family and I were out celebrating my mother’s birthday. I remember hugging my family a little tighter and telling them I loved them. After experiencing this tragedy and talking more about us and our families we quickly learned that we had a strong interest in one another. On the 1st Friday in February, we went on our 1st date, and nervously had a great time and didn’t want to leave each other's company. We went on another date the next Friday and then celebrated Valentine’s Day. We showed great interest and connection in each other and quickly realized that this connection felt real and safe. Elvis then asked Me to be his girlfriend that next weekend, and I excitedly accepted. Shortly after becoming official on 2/23/20. The world shut down and we spent that time connecting in ways that spoke to our hearts. In the Summer of 2020, we traveled, began to adapt to a new healthy lifestyle, and celebrated my birthday safely with friends and family. At a natural pace, we started to integrate into each other’s families. Over the next 2 years, we shared smiles, great moments, losses of loved ones, and sadness. We realized that life was a little easier with each other. In January 2022, WE decided to celebrate Elvis's 35th birthday and rented a party hall. The omicron variant was running wild through NYC, and we had to postpone the party we decided to celebrate on June 4, 2022. Our friends and family came out to celebrate Elvis and surprisingly to me I would be an engaged woman. On the day of Elvis’s postponed party he asked me to marry him and with no hesitation, I said yes.
