One warm summer night in Richmond Laney walked into a bar and we met for the first time. Several weeks prior, mutual friends tried to introduce us but as luck (or fate) would have it - it happened on its own. From the moment we met both of us knew there was something extraordinary drawing us together. We both claim to have had butterflies, and I can tell you it felt like there was no one else in the crowded room but the two of us. Laney filled up the empty places in my heart and my life felt much more complete when we were together. One night that summer, I told her confidently, "give me two weeks time and I'll convince you to be my girlfriend". It took another 12 months but that's what happened and the rest is history.

We went to go see Les Miserables with my parents for new years. Before leaving Woody was feeding our puppy and he sliced his finger open badly because I didn't know how to properly open a can. Everyone was giggling the entire night and I wasn't sure why. We went to the Hamilton to eat dinner afterwards and my best friend Marvin showed up. I still was clueless; I guess I figured Marvin just showed up! When I came out of the bathroom Woody got down on one knee. I blacked out and don't remember much after that. The photos are pretty funny and are evidence that I said yes! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
