The journey of Roland (Rocky) and Lane began in early 2017 at Indiana State University through the introduction from bridesmaid Victoria Davis (Mickel) as “Some nerdy kid riding his bike” stopped by to say “Hello” to one of his floor residents on his residence hall floor, where he was a RA. From there Roland and Lane over the year were crossing paths between joint greek life events (Pi Kappa Alpha & Alpha Phi) and mutual friends hanging out together as a group. There were late nights at the Library (nursing school was no joke for Lane), hanging out with friends in common areas of their greek life housing, and the many road trips around town where they shared their love for music… a bond was formed between the two. Though it was “obvious” to their many friends they were likely dating, it was never official until October of 2020 where the couple rekindled their friendship as Roland attended a Halloween party at Lane's apartment in Indianapolis. From there the two were instantly each others support systems as Lane was working 3rd shift as an ER Nurse during the throws for the pandemic and Roland was working 2nd shift as an Operations Manager, experiencing what was an endless “busy season”. Along the way there were many trips, adventures and mis-adventures (RIP Audi A4) that were navigated. This materialized their passions for friends, family, career, and above all else their love for one another. After 2.5 years of dating, 5 Travel Nursing Contracts, 2 Promotions, and purchasing their first home in Carmel Indiana and a short stint in the hospital for Roland, on July 9th 2023 Roland SHOCKED Lane with a surprise proposal during a planned couples photo shoot in Fountain Square Indianapolis. Since then there have been many weddings we have been able to celebrate our various friends and family celebrating their love journeys & we are excited to share in this important day with each of those present and in spirit too! ~ March 22nd, 2025 ~ The Wilsons ~
