Lance and Tish met at Hartsfield-Jackson International airport in early 2017. A few weeks into their friendship he asked "Do you wanna be more than friends?" Tish said yes and soon they would find themselves in love and parenting a cat and dog.

On Feb 1, 2020, Tish was invited to Piedmont Park by her line sister Lisa and little sister Patty to take pictures. Lisa had a new camera lense and wanted to test it out. As they were walking near the lake and taking various photos Patty says, "Hey look, someone is getting proposed to". Tish says, "aww that's cute" and continues to keep walking. Then she notices a captain America backpack and realizes her nephew has the same one. When she looks up she"s surprised to see her sister-in-law staring back at her. She then realizes her brother is also there and just thinks what a coincidence. Then she sees her boyfriend, standing in the middle of the crowd, smiling and staring back at her with a dozen roses in hand. It was in that moment that she realized, this proposal was for her.
