How we met: It’s a pandemic. We met online of course! 😁 Who would have thought a Facebook post and a few comments would have brought us together? We have racked our brains trying to remember who's page we even met on, but to whomever it was...….WE TREMENDOUSLY THANK YOU !!! 😍 Lamar was in Florida and I was in New York. Yet 1,075.2 miles couldn't keep us apart! :-) (Which I happen to LOVE the sunshine state and have plans to live there one day--so how ironic it was to learn that he lives there already? :-) ) Whoever said long distance relationships don't work, must've not gotten the memo. LOL With love, dedication, loyalty, prayer, openness, communication, respect, patience, routine date nights (YES you CAN still date each other via the world wide web 😍) and a solid plan as to when you will join together...... long distance relationships can work. In fact, both of us have learned that not only did it work for us, but it has become the most rewarding & fulfilling relationship we have ever experienced in our entire lives. Distance really allows you to focus on the important things. I am so glad I was willing and able to focus. Anyhoo..... back to our story...... Lamar and I had been conversing everyday since we met. We'd video call and text each other......day and night. He was consistent in his "Good morning" and "Good night" messages---the very first thing that caught my attention. We just flowed, connected and amidst all of the worldly problems..... our lives finally felt simple. We planned to meet for the first time in May 2021. I was booked to take flight on May 13th. I was so excited and nervous. As I started packing, I remember thinking to myself, "I'm going to meet my future." Sadly, Lamar had a death in his family and had to travel for the funeral. The funeral was here in New York. So we met for the first time on May 6th. At 1:30 in the morning. 😳 With nothing planned....with me in a t-shirt, a pair of leggings and my hair was looking a hot mess after running around the house cleaning like a crazed maniac that night....all spur of the moment. AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!! 😍 We've been inseparable ever since. Now back to the pandemic. It's STILL a pandemic. And everything is still a lil crazy. And if you know us, you know that we are too! LOL We still wanted to celebrate with you all. But we've decided to do things outside of the norm while having a great and memorable time! So first up, a pre-destination cocktail party to wish us well and send us off on July 15th! The actual ceremony will be for just the two of us on July 22nd and it will be in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. We will share the Zoom wedding link with you all at the party so hope to see you soon! 🥰
