Question

Why get married in Hawaii?

Answer

Well, that's an easy question to answer.....WHY NOT?! No seriously, we love making memories together and felt like Hawaii was the right place for us.

Question

How should I book my trip?

Answer

We suggest booking a place to stay first as those will fill up quickly. Then check and book flights and a rental car!

Question

Do I have to attend all the events listed on the schedule?

Answer

We would love to have you join us at every event! Of course we ask that you join us for the ceremony, but other events are completely up to you.

Question

Should I book a hotel room or Airbnb/Vrbo?

Answer

Whatever suits your needs! After doing research on our own, we found that Airbnbs/rental homes were much more budget friendly than a hotel room. If you want to stay in an Airbnb, make sure you book soon as they book quickly. Want to stay close to the ceremony location? Search "Haleiwa, HI" in Airbnb to get homes 5-15 minutes away from ceremony site. The Turtle Bay Resort is closest to our ceremony location and where we will go for dinner afterwards.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Casual and simple is what we are going for. Men should wear khakis and a nice shirt and ladies should wear a flowy dress. Also, comfy shoes are a must as we will have our toes in the sand! Channel those island vibes!

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

To be safe, we suggest 30 minutes before ceremony start time which is at 4:30 pm.

Question

Can I take my own pictures of the ceremony or family/bride&groom portraits on my phone/IPad/other device?

Answer

ABSOLUTELY NO! As much as we are attached to our phones, we are much more attached to each other. Our ceremony is an "unplugged" ceremony and per our contract with our photographer no photos on devices will be taken during the ceremony or portraits. YOU ARE allowed to take pictures on your own before the ceremony begins as the sun will be setting. Any questions about this? Just contact us!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, there will be family pictures for maybe 30-45 minutes. Then Savanna and Lake will take their pictures by themselves up to two hours after the ceremony. Around 7 pm head on over to Roy's Beach House for a dinner celebration.

Question

Do I need to get Savanna and Lake a wedding gift?

Answer

Simply put, no. We knew that when planning a wedding in Hawaii, we forfeited the traditional wedding scene. Making memories with you in Hawaii means more to us than any gift! If you feel you must get us something, check out our Registry tab.
