In the fall of 2022 we took a trip to Boston to celebrate Savannah’s 26th birthday. Throughout the trip, Savannah had hoped for an engagement, but couldn’t quite put the pieces together as Kyle was doing a fantastic job at keeping a secret. You’d think that after six years together, she would be able to pick up on Kyle's nervousness? Nope! He did a great job at maintaining his composure. Savannah’s best friend, Brecca, and her fiancée, Jamis, had joined us on the trip. Through the help of Brecca, Kyle kept Savannah’s ring out of sight & in Brecca’s crossbody bag. (which come to think of it now, Brecca never took it off!) On October 8, 2022, we drove from the White Mountains in New Hampshire to Cape Neddick, Maine. Many stops and lots of driving later, we arrived in Kennebunkport, Maine. Savannah was oblivious of Kyle's plan, so much so that all she wanted to do was show off the charm in this town. After arriving at ‘the spot’ where Kyle had hoped the engagement would take place, we learned that it was closed. The panic started to sink in for Kyle, and well, Brecca too! However, 500 feet to the west was the most beautiful shoreline consisting of rocks and a sunset brewing upon the horizon. Clearly a photo opportunity was presenting itself! While standing on the rocks, Savannah was taking a video of the horizon, however was quickly disrupted by Kyle's voice saying: "hey chicken?" As she turned around *in disbelief that he interrupted her video* she was shocked to see him down on one knee... talk about an emotional rollercoaster! Cue the happy tears, shaking hands and many sweet words later.. she said “YES!” We have always had the silliest nicknames for each other, mainly due to the nicknames we create for our cat, Tinker. However, Kyle loves to call Savannah “chicken”, or “biscuit”.. you get the hint, right? Clearly Chick-Fil-A is popular in their home! Throughout our six years spent together, our exciting engagement and now a lifetime to go; we are so excited to share our special day with the ones we love. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
