It was football season 2016 when Corin went with friends to a tailgate in some random guy's dorm room. It was storming outside and Corin had to get to the other side of campus. Lucky for her, the random guy insisted that she borrow his raincoat. As you guessed, the random guy was Kyle. Over the course of the next two years, Corin eventually returned the raincoat and she and Kyle became the closest of friends.

They stayed in touch when Corin graduated and when Kyle moved to Grenada for medical school, never missing a beat. Summer of 2021, Kyle moved to Florida (where Corin was in graduate school) and the stars finally aligned. After being turned down more times than he would like to admit, Kyle convinced Corin to go on a date. Dates quickly turned to Dating which quickly turned to Long Distance. Corin moved to Boston to finish her PhD while Kyle finished medical school in Florida.

For 12 long months, they took advantage of every excuse (and very generous parents) to fly to Fort Lauderdale, Boston, or Dallas to see each other. When Kyle matched for residency in his home town, there was no question that Corin would find her next job there too. After moving in together and starting their dream jobs, a trip to New Orleans was a must. Met by some of their best friends, they went to yet another Tulane football game together (Kyle really wanted to make sure football stayed a part of their story). After the game, and after Corin's friends convinced her to go home and change into a 'cute fit', Kyle proposed to Corin in Audubon Park just across the street from Tulane. Corin of course said "Yes!!" and they celebrated in true New Orleans fashion on Bourbon Street.
