G and I met on Siesta Key Beach while I was on spring break from graduate school and he was at spring training with the Baltimore Orioles. The night prior to us meeting, my friends and I met some of Garrett's teammates who invited us to the beach the next day. To my surprise, one of the guys informed me that one of his teammates was from Buffalo and we were then (obviously) introduced #buffalove. It was a week we will never forget in a place that will forever be close to out hearts <3
It started with a casual stroll through downtown Buffalo on the 23rd of December after I convinced Taylor we had reservations at one of our favorite restaurants, Toutant. I was about to ask the question that would make me the happiest person in the world and boy was it hard to keep this secret. Typical of Buffalo, the weather was beautiful, 30 and rain. As we continued to walk around, all Taylor was thinking was, "Garrett hates walking why are we doing this," and proceeds to continue to bug me about, "why can't we go to the restaurant early to get out of the weather?" My response, "The place is crazy busy and they have no room," as we are the only people in sight. After walking around for a good 20 minutes we turned a corner and she gazed down main st in the theater district to prematurely see "Taylor Lynné Will You Marry Me." As anybody would, she began to cry. I tried acting like I didn't see so we could get in a more photogenic location for our hiding family waiting to take pictures but the moment had come and I kneeled a few hundred feet away to pop that question and, as you all know, she said yes!
