Why an initmate ceremony?
We always knew we wanted a small ceremony but also wanted to celebrate with all of our family and friends. We wanted to avoid the stress of a big wedding with all the schedules, vendors and moving parts. We hope everyone will understand that although you were not at the ceremony we still want you to celebrate with us!!!
The Proposal
We were in the Outer Banks, NC for a Tennyson's family vacation. We had a conversation the night before the propsal that convinced Helen there was NO way we were getting enagaed because Chris has a way with his words. The Tennyson's were taking their annual Christmas card photos then per usual all the couples and friends take photos- Chris and Helen were up first and he got down on one knee and popped the question on the back porch with the beach in the background. Helen was shocked! She even said "Are you serious???" but the answer was obviously YES! Chris was so nervous he was sweating, shaking and crying but he was releaved that Helen wasn't ever going to ask him if we were getting engaged again.
