The highest point in the San Juans with one of the best views in Washington. On a clear day you can see Mount Baker to the north and Mount Rainier to the south. There’s a paved road up to the top, but the view will be even sweeter if you hike from one of the trails that start in Moran State Park. The park also has 11 miles of bike trails.
This lake is a great place to rent a row boat, grab some ice cream, and hike the perimeter.
The second highest peak in the islands, the 360 degree view from the top is awe inspiring. Be sure to stop at the rare and enchanting Garry Oak meadows along the trail. Check out the newly built Turtlehead trail for a steeper trek and an amazing sunset.
This little gem has a beautiful pebbly beach and easy-to-navigate trails through Madrone forests. It’s a great place for a picnic or just to enjoy views of Lopez, Blakely, and Obstruction Island.
