Despite the fake story they love to tell about meeting at an Arby's and sharing a 5 for $5, Kristin and Stephen discovered each other on the dating app, Hinge. She initiated the conversation by asking what his favorite book was. A hard question, no doubt, but he said "anything by Hemingway." After discovering a mutual love for Mad Men, Kristin & Stephen met up for a drink named after the beloved Sally Draper at Tender in Lawrenceville (RIP) and spent hours looking at way too much art at Art all Night. They went on to eat pizza all around Pittsburgh (Aiello's, Beto's, Mineo's, and Fiori's) on their subsequent dates, and the rest is history!
After grabbing drinks and dinner at their local favorite, Needle and Pin (also RIP — are you sensing a trend about our favorite places yet?), Kristin and Stephen headed back to their newly renovated first home. Wrapped up in the Ernie's leash, Stephen got down on one knee on the front porch, and Kristin said "YES!"
Given the topsy-turvy state of our world in 2020, we decided to tie the knot even though it was not the wedding we had planned. Postponing our big party to 2021, we had an intimate ceremony with only our parents and bridal party -- and, Plan B turned out to be quite special. We're looking forward to celebrating with you this year as the light at the end of the COVID tunnel gets brighter.
