YES! Michael says: It's plus one for a reason, but we've spent most our lives single so feel free to come alone too! Kristin says: You are welcome to attend with whomever would make the day most meaningful for you! Please let us know if you want to bring a spouse/partner/date who wasn't included in the invitation. If you would like to bring your children, please be in touch in advance. There will also be several good folks attending without a guest, so you’ll be in good company with or without a +1.
YES! The ceremony will be held on the lawn by the Manor House, and the reception will be down the hill in the Black Meadow Pavilion, which is a 3-sided, barn-like structure. We expect the weather to be lovely, late spring Virginia weather. Historically, temperatures average in the high 60s-low 70s during the day, and in the 50s in the evening. We do recommend bringing a jacket/sweater. In case of rain, both the ceremony and the reception will be in the Black Meadow Pavilion.
Kristin says: You are welcome to wear whatever you will be most comfortable in for a festive party! If you want to wear a tux or jeans, feel free! Most folks will be wearing dressy casual clothes. Michael says: Well, it's on a FARM but to quote the musical Annie: "You're never fully dressed without a smile!"
Yes! There are a few housing options available on the Farm, including glamping yurts! AND you can camp at the Farm for free! If you bring a tent, there are places to wash up and shower near the reception hall and the yurts. If you would like to stay with us on the Farm, please let us know!
We recognize the challenges for all of us in this time of the pandemic, and the risks still involved in planning an event in an unknown time. In order to keep everyone safe, we expect that every adult and child who are able to be vaccinated will do so (and ideally get a booster) before attending. We know that there are medical and age exceptions. If you are not currently vaccinated, please let us know as you RSVP. We will continue to monitor the variants and any other situations that may arise with the pandemic. We hope that with an entirely outdoor wedding and reception, we can gather as safely as possible. We will update this FAQ as more information becomes available.
