We began talking through a dating app at the end of May in 2020. A few weeks went by when it was decided to meet each other. Picture it. A Friday evening. The windows of Cory’s truck rolled down as we’re screaming to Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, as if we’ve known each other for a long time. We enjoyed late night snow cones walking the park, finding a few copperheads along the way (I know so romantic). After our night time adventures came to an end, we went to Cory’s house (because he didn’t give off serial killer vibes). Naturally, Cory showed off his drum and piano skills before we watched a movie and shared a first kiss. I went home knowing that I had just met someone very special. We just clicked.

We flew out to visit my best friend of 16 years in Utah. Cory knew how excited I was to go hiking because I missed the mountains. My bestie took us up a beautiful mountain with a waterfall at the top where we took pictures. Once we were done capturing our conquest, I started asking everyone if they wanted gum. When I looked down at Cory reaching in his bag, he pulled out a ring and asked if I wanted something.. to be his “forever”. I was in shock! I asked him why he was proposing and told him he had to say a bunch of sweet stuff. I’m pretty sure I rambled for another minute or two before he asked “are you going to say yes?!” It was funny, awkward, raw and beautiful.
