Semi-formal, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.
It could be snowing or could be a heat wave - pack accordingly ;) All seriousness, May in Northern Michigan typically sees highs in the 60s with lows in the 40s.
We love your kids—we really do, but we want our wedding to be your weekend away! All festivities will be adults-only. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us.
The ceremony & cocktail hour will be outdoors (weather permitting) and reception indoors.
If you are staying away from Hotel Walloon we unfortunately are unable to provide a shuttle service. There are are Ubers, Lyfts and local taxi cab services available (see the front desk for more information). If you are staying at Hotel Walloon, everything is walkable.
Whether you are staying at Hotel Walloon, attending the welcome hour on Friday or attending the ceremony Saturday - the parking is all the same. The options are 1) park your car directly across the street from the hotel in the designated parking lot or 2) valet at the hotel's entrance.
Unless you are in the wedding party, the morning and early afternoon are yours to do as you please! Get a round of golf in at Boyne Mountain, brewery hop in Petoskey, go wine tasting, take in the sights of the lakeshore - just please be on time for the ceremony at 5PM!
If you've made a room reservation at Hotel Walloon you can expect a concierge call 2 weeks prior to check in. During that call you can request an early check in if you want, while it's not guaranteed, the hotel will try to accommodate - otherwise check in is typically around 4 PM.
Bring your bathing suite! While the lake likely will be too chilly, there is a heated outdoor spa pool for your enjoyment. There are no restaurants within the hotel itself but right next door is Barrel Back restaurant and Walloon Lake Inn restaurant (both walkable).
