We first met at work, however, I was overwhelmed with the busy hustle of things and forgot most of the faces I saw. Thankfully, Braden didn’t! He poked around the office a few times afterwards and asked my co-workers about me, and after gathering up enough courage, he asked for my number. We talked for a while and later I asked if he would tag along with me to Phoenix, so that I could pick up a sewing machine, and he said yes. The car ride to the valley was an unusually short drive with him and there were no jittery nerves, just comfortable space. I guess he liked being around me enough that we stayed a little longer in the city than we originally planned and turned the day into our first date!
It was a beautiful Sunday evening when Braden and I went to the temple grounds in Central, AZ. We enjoy going there to feel the Heavenly spirit the temple brings and to talk about what’s going on in each other’s lives. We were doing just that when suddenly the topic turned towards the future, and I saw him become uncharacteristically nervous. I reasoned that it could have simply been from the topic of conversation, but that didn’t stop my anticipation. With every word, my suspicions grew. Then, he asked me to dance with him, my favorite thing to do at my favorite place in the world. At the end of it, Braden gave me the most tender hug and got down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and I think I said yes somewhere in my excitement!
