The Rosa Parks Circle ice rink is a treasured, and recently renovated, winter destination in Grand Rapids. You can make reservations or walk-up. Cost ($4 for adults) includes ice skate rental. There are shoe bins, lockers ($0.25), and public restrooms available. Many restaurants are in close proximity as well!

The Great Lakes Invitational (GLI) is an annual four-team National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men's ice hockey tournament first played in 1965. This year, it will include Michigan Tech, Michigan State, Ferris state, and Alaska Fairbanks. Games will be on December 28 and 29. There will be a public open skate from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM those days at Rosa Parks Circle with pep bands and mascots. Tickets go on sale in September and may be purchased at the box office or at Ticketmaster.com.
