Blake and Kristan met in Los Angeles California. This is a photo from Blake's first visit to Detroit.
Happy New Year! Here we are celebrating at midnight in the snow at one of Kristans favorite parks.
Here we are on the California coast. Behind us are elephants seals scattered along the beach. We even got to watch them fight.
Quick! We used a 10 second timer to take this picture on our hike to a waterfall in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Hollywood hills horseback riding adventure. Kristan's first time and she killed it!
About to begin our Route 66 trip on the coldest day ever in Chicago. We followed the exact route from a book.
Hanging out in the caves where Jesse James and his crew hid out.
Rocking out at the largest rocking chair in the world! Kristan's favorite thing to do is visit roadside attractions, probably because she grew up in Allen Park, home of the world's largest tire.
When you get to Cadillac art in Amarillo, TX and it's dark, you freeze a little to wait for that sunrise.
Wide open spaces and colored sand. Let's celebrate!
We made it! Chicago, IL to Santa Monica, CA. We used no GPS or cell phone maps. Just an old book, the winding road, the many road side attractions, and the best partner through it all!
Chinatown LA for the Chinese New Year celebration and parade.
Mini roadtrip time! We drove along the Lake Michigan coast and camped along the way.
About that kayak life. Every summer we rent a cabin with our friends, this time was Hocking Hills, OH
Cave wedding! This is when Kristans brother got married in Kentucky.
Kooky kids at Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum, home to some of the oldest, and coolest coin machines around.
Kristans first time to Disneyland!!!
SUP! One of our favorite summertime activities is stand up paddle boarding.
Horseback riding in the mountains. This time, Kristans parents joined us. They loved the view but Kristans mom got a little nervous with how close to edge the horse walked.
Avila beach for Bryce's graduation enjoying the nice view and that good old coastal fog in the midst of central coast wine country.
Road trip time! We've driven across the United States 3 times and it just seems to keep getting better every time!
Standing on a stump of the biggest species of tree in the world, the beautiful California sequoias. We camped at this site 30° weather and saw a family of black bears
San Francisco rolling up that California coast. We've gone to this point a couple times and this time we saw whales!
Redwood national park, not only filled with awe inspiring trees but protected beaches and the views to go with them.
Still at Redwood National Park. Not only did we romp around, we stayed at a rest stop in the park. It was one of the most scenic rest stops in the country in the middle of an ancient forest.
When the fin of the surfboard on top of the car makes it too tall to drive through the tree, you stand and pose!
Then find another tree with a taller opening. Check "drive through a tree" of the bucket list.
Funky kids and a funky tree face in one of those funky Cali forests.
When you are unsure how to make your place original, stack bears and then dress them up. You can call the place Confusion Hill for added hilarity.
After a few rounds of trying to stack rocks like that on our heads, we settled for a normal picture.
We made it too the next state and it only took us a really long time because California is really long but we enjoyed every moment of it and now it's time for that Oregon coast!
Remind you of something? Try lining up the doubloon. That's right. We're real life Goonies!
See! Goonies! That white house behind us is where Mikey lived in the Goonies, minus the crazy front door contraption.
Living the rainforest life in the Pacific Northwest.
This airbnb is in the middle of the forest in WA. Oh, and it's also an old 1940s boat with just enough space for two
Channeling our in sailor spirits.
We had way too much fun taking pictures here.
When the camera timer goes off before you're ready.
Long roadtrips and sleeping in the car means washing up in truck stop bathrooms. Life on the road isnt always beautiful, but she always is.
Welcome to the Badlands. Doesn't look so bad does it?
Beware of Bison, because they're beautiful and you don't want to miss them.
We were so excited when we saw a Bison! We weren't so sure we would see one but we considered seeing at least one pretty lucky.
We found more! A LOT more! They even made us wait for them as they crossed the road just a few feet in front of us.
Jackalope! Real size! Well we didn't see any smaller ones. We stopped by Wall Drug, who built an empire by bringing ice mainstream.
Dorothy Molter! Kwitchurbeliakin! That's one bada$$ woman! If you haven't heard of her, look her up. Short story is, she made root beer in the woods.
We made it back to Michigan and decided to take a picture by this rock. Isn't it so picturesque. You might even call this a "Pictured Rock."
Exploring waterfalls with friends in the hills of West Virginia.
This waterfall was a private waterfall on the property where we stayed in West Virginia so we had at all to ourselves
We spent a lot of our time here. We would even make tea and hike down to the waterfall together to drink it.
This is it! Blake planned the best day of Kristans favorite things. We went to a funky cafe, a giant candy store, and a local restaurant. The day ended perfectly in front of the Minneapolis lights.
She said, "Yes!"
I repeat. She said, "Yes!" And I've never heard anything sweeter. Now we hope that you can come watch us make it official on July 29th!!!
