It was early 2021, and I was SO bored during work one day. I was a desk assistant for a dorm at my school, and there was not much to the job. I had a graveyard shift one night and with lack of sleep, decided to download a Christian dating app just to play around and see what would happen. I had fully intended to make an account, swipe around, and delete the app. After a while, it got to a point where I was getting bored of it and was just absent-mindedly swiping left at this point, which is "rejecting" profiles. Then, on complete accident, I swiped right on a guy that I didnt even get a chance to look at. And of course, he had swiped right on me, so we instantly matched. I panicked, because I didn't even mean to swipe in the first place. But then i took a look at his profile and fell in love. We eventually found a way to meet for the first time, even with being 1.5 hours apart. The moment i met him in person i thought, "husband material!" I found him to be very handsome and to be such a gentleman! We eventually ended up dating, even through distance being at different schools. 9 months later, we took a trip to Scottsboro, Alabama. My favorite place on Earth is this overlook just right before town called Weathington Park. We went up by the cliffside, and he dropped to his knee and popped the question. I was in so much shock I just kept going, "wait hold on! wait oh my gosh! wait no!" But eventually I got around to saying YES!

So one night at around 2 a.m. I gave this new one a try and struck gold. I saw this gorgeous blonde girl pop up on my screen so I immediately swiped right. Hoping for a response I waited and then, it happened. We started talking and could not stop for hours. We kept on talking, eventually face timing and started to learn more about each other. Eventually, to my surprise, she agreed to meet up with me in Tuscaloosa so we could meet face to face. The first thing I remember about Kris was that she was extremely quiet and shy. But honestly, that was very cute to me. She did not know it, but in my head I was freaking out from nervousness. How could I have landed someone so beautiful? Anyways our date went well and from then on it's history. This past year with my love have been amazing. Kris is kind. Kris is beautiful. Kris understands me. That and an infinite amount of other reasons, is the reason why I decided to take her back to a place I love so much, my hometown of Scottsboro, and proposed to her above the Tennessee river. I thank God for her every day and cannot wait to marry her!
