Rob and Sam both met while working at Dairy Queen together! Sam was always under the impression that Rob was way older than her, so for the first couple of years at DQ, they rarely spoke outside of work. Then, once Sam found out that Rob was only 2 months older than her, she decided to "shoot her shot" (Yes, this is me, Rob, typing this part & yes, it is true that Sam initiated the talking phase of our relationship. Crazy.... I know). They instantly clicked and became best friends. Shortly after this, Samantha was navigating through a difficult loss in her life. Rob was there for her, offering unwavering support and genuine compassion. It was in those early, difficult days that she knew he was the one she wanted by her side through life's highs and lows for the rest of her life.
Rob had everything planned. The ring was safe and sound with Sam's best friend, Jada. Rob's brother, RJ, built the idea that the four of them were to go downtown for brunch to celebrate Rob's birthday. As they were on their way to brunch, RJ seemed to 'mess" up the "reservation" time, meaning they had a little over an hour to kill. They decided to grab some cocktails at Shooters to past the time. After what felt like an eternity at the bar, they finally began to walk outside. Right next to Shooters is a beautiful, scenic railroad track. This was the perfect spot. As Rob got down on a knee, the exact words that were spoken were a blur, but in that moment of happiness with laughter and tears, she said yes and the rest is history!!
