Question

I received a welcome party invitation but my RSVP card says rehearsal dinner. Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

I (Mallory) messed up the envelope stuffing and accidentally randomly distributed the wrong RSVP cards. Please disregard what is written on the RSVP card and instead go by the invitation you received.

Question

When / Where is the bus picking up from? And will we also have a bus back?

Answer

The bus will be picking up and dropping back off to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Huntington Village. Buses leave for the venue at 3:15 and will drop everyone back off from the venue when the wedding is over.

Question

I booked an Airbnb so I don't have the bus picking me up, how do I get around?

Answer

Ubers and Lyfts are available throughout Long Island, and typically arrive between 5 - 10 minutes from the time you ordered one.

Forgot my shoes (or other item), help!

Answer

Walt Whitman Mall has tons of stores for all of your last minute shopping needs. It is located 10-15 minutes from downtown Huntington and has Saks, Bloomingdale's, Brooks Brothers, etc. For something a bit closer, Fox's in Huntington Village is an outlet-type woman's apparel shop that carries evening wear, day wear, shoes, costume jewelry and more.

I want to go to NYC after the wedding day, how hard is it to get there?

Answer

NYC is about an hour train ride from Huntington Train Station and Cold Spring Harbor Train Station, getting you into Penn Station or Grand Central Station. If you wanted to drive, it is about an hour and a half. But be aware on a holiday weekend traffic may make the drive a lot longer. Ubers are always available.

We are on Long Island on 4th of July weekend, are there any beaches we can go to?

Answer

Fire Island, Long Beach, Jones Beach and Robert Moses Beach are great ocean-facing options on the south shore of Long Island. The beaches on the south shore are sandy and the waves can get big. The north shore of Long Island (where Huntington is) is bay-facing. The beaches on the north share are rocky and there are tides, but not big waves. Public beaches in the Huntington area are Gold Star Beach, Knollwood Beach, Crescent Beach, Centerport Beach, and Crab Meadow Beach. Be aware, some of these may require a one time payment to access them as non-residents.

We received the Save the Date and regret that we will not be able to attend.

We will miss you but we totally understand! We know it is a holiday weekend and some people have their annual plans for the 4th. If you know right away you definitely can't make it, we would be thankful if you let us know sooner than later. That way we know how many "Plus-Ones" we can extend.
