From Andre’s point of view: We were both using the bumble dating app and that's how we met. On July 5th 2019 after chatting on the app we decided to meet at Kahala Mall for ice cream. We met and ended up walking around the mall and eventually after talking for a few hours decided to go get something to eat. I like Taco Bell and she likes Pizza Hut so we went to the Taco Bell Pizza Hut in the mall. We ended up closing that place down, eating and talking. We hit it off right away. So at the end of the meetup we exchanged phone numbers and I promised to call. At the time I was stacking my bumble dates two to three at a time during the weekends’ cause this was the only time I had to go. The next day I had another bumble date however that one didn't go so well. After that date was over I found myself thinking about Kori so I decided to text her and see if she wanted to go to a movie with me that night. She of course declined because she had to go to church with her mom, however she did offer to go to a movie with me on Sunday in the morning. I agreed and that was our first official date. We went and saw Spiderman homecoming and then we went to Pieology and had pizza. Then I took her to my favorite spot in Hawaii Kai and we hung out at the beach for a few hours and then I took her home. That night I deleted all of my dating apps because I had found the one I had been looking for.

Our story is a dating app success!! We had both been on dating apps off and on over time, just trying to traverse this world of dating. I admit to stacking my "meet and greet" coffee dates into the little free time i had in my schedule at the time. I was juggling many hats at the time when we swiped on each other. This bumble app was unique as it was an app in which a person had to have reviewed your profile first and "swiped right" on you before you could contact them. So when i saw his cute freckles and dimple i swiped right and a cute little bumble bee buzzed on the screen saying we were a match. Andre had swiped on me so i was excited that he had found my profile or pictures interesting. We chatted for a bit, he remembers things much better than i do, but i remember thinking this guy is so cute and funny. He was witty and responded to my messages. We met for gelato because it was a hot summer day and we both liked ice cream. I saw his cute mohawk and freckles walking towards me and usually there is a level of anxiety when you meet someone but i just smiled and was like Okay...hey cutie!! I admit to turning all of my charm on that day and we laughed so much and talked and walked around the mall. Never did we have awkward silences. As the minutes, turned into hours and the gelato turned into tacos and pizza, we spent 7 hours together the first time we met. I remember him walking me to my car and not wanting the night to end and when we drove away, minutes later i sent him a text saying how much fun i had with him and looking forward to our next date. The next day, we had texted through out the day a little and i was sitting in church with my mom and i got his text asking me if i was free for a movie. I messaged back (while in church which my mom gave me the stink eye for), but i didn't want him to think i didn't want to meet. So, in church i sent a quick message back asking for a raincheck for Sunday. The next day we spent the entire day together, movies, pizza, driving and a beautiful sunset. Andre is the most genuine and authentic person. He entered my life during a time when my dad was sick and soon later, my dad passed away. Life was complicated but with faith, God's timing blessed me with him. We have faced some of life's most difficult chapters together not to mention a pandemic. He is always the best part of my day, he makes me laugh and quiets my mind and tolerates my shenanigans! So a bumble bee dating app brought us together and after meeting him, life makes sense. All the things that didn't work out was just leading my road to meet with his. So hang on tight gang, we have many adventures to come with my cute freckled sweetheart.
